Texas electric grid ready for the summer heat, ERCOT says RSS Feed

Bring on the summer heat, Texas’ electric grid is ready.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas announced that it will have sufficient power for the summer months with nearly 77,000 megawatts of electric generation available.

Peak demand is projected to be 69,000 MW. If that happens on a hot, steamy day in August, it would be a new record for ERCOT.
