Reliability of Rio Grande Valley’s electricity remains a concern ahead of summer

As temperatures plunged this week, focus again renewed on the Rio Grande Valley’s electrical use and whether supply will be able to keep up with demand heading into the warmer months of the year.

But officials with the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas, which oversees most of the state’s electrical grid, said this week that it expects smooth sailing throughout the spring and summer months.
