Focusing on the Future of Energy: A Futurist’s View

“Sometime in the next century,” says energy futurist Jack Uldrich, “the utility industry will be challenged in a way for which it has no precedent.”

Uldrich hopes the information he shares with a leading Fortune 500 electric and natural gas utility company this week in Texas will shed some light on how to prepare for, and weather, the storms they will face in the future.

He is slated to provide insight into energy trends and leadership in Houston on May 26, where he will deliver his latest Keynote: Focus on the Future: Preparing for the Unpredictable.

Among the technologies Uldrich will cover in his keynote, he says Blockchain is a front-runner.

Uldrich, who has been hailed as the “Chief Unlearning Officer” by Businessweek, says, “Continuous disruption is the new normal. And the most successful innovators/leaders in the energy and utility industry will ask better questions. And as a result, they get better answers.”

Uldrich, who founded The School of Unlearning in 2003, is highly regarded throughout the world for his assessment of renewable energy and technological trends and their effect on our society.

He has delivered keynote presentations and workshops for NRCEA — America’s Electric Cooperatives, National Ocean Industries Association, American Public Power, National Fluid Power, National Electric Contractors, Power South, ENMAX and the Energy Fund, among others.

Parties interested in learning more about Jack Uldrich, his books, his daily blog or his speaking availability are encouraged to visit his website.
