LCG, February 27, 2017–Growth in ERCOT is an active area of research and debate for all Texas stakeholders. The region is undergoing unprecedented wind and solar development, billions of dollars in transmission upgrades, and the proposed integration with Lubbock Power & Light.

LCG Consulting has published two reports using its premiere grid modeling software, UPLAN, to model ERCOT in 2017 with 5-minute dispatch:

ERCOT 2017 Outlook Report. Outlines future operation of the ERCOT nodal market, including Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs), load zone prices, hub prices and expected congestion.

ERCOT Q1 Resource Adequacy Report. Investigates the operational implications of strained network conditions in the ERCOT market.

These two reports oversee generation mix, discuss whether prices will remain relatively low compared to past years, how different zones compare, and what kind of congestion and curtailment stakeholders can expect and where it can be expected.
