New Transmission Line a Year from Completion

A new 96 mile-long electric transmission line is about a year away from completion. It will stretch from one end of the Valley to the other.

It’s a project that’s been in the works since 2013. Developers said the line is needed to ensure continued reliable electric service for the Valley.

It will span from the North Edinburg Substation to Loma Alta Substation near Brownsville.
